We were all young once and remember what it was like to: (1) not want to be told what to do -OR- (2) be terrified of making a mistake. Now that we’re older, we might wonder how to engage youth at work in more effective methods than were used on us.
In this interactive and humorous program, you will learn the Socratic Delegation Process, a practical and critically important tool that tackles the challenges of delegating to youth. Use of this process enables you to assign tasks to youth in a way that (1) avoids the perception of “bossiness,” (2) ensures they know exactly what to do and will get it done correctly the first time, and (3) develops their talent without a lot of extra time on your part.
This program is based on Silver’s book, The (Incredibly Useful) Book of Delegation – How to delegate so it gets done correctly the first time!
Participants will walk away knowing: • Ways to delegate that empower youth to take ownership of their roles • Why your amazingly clear instructions aren't being carried out correctly and what you can do about it • How to apply the ""Vulcan Mind Meld"" to learn what others are planning so you can head problems off at the pass
