About this talk

Research tells us that interest fit correlates with career outcomes like job satisfaction, performance, and salary. We also know that employers need workers with essential skills. How can you support youth in aligning their interests with labor market needs while developing their essential skills? As important, learn when to introduce this information based on cognitive behavior that equips them to achieve lifelong success?

In this session you will learn about tools and trainings that can be used in person or virtually.

Session includes: • How we use the RIASEC framework—a well-researched and widely applied tool that connects personality types with work environments • How to access and implement essential skill rubrics and virtual trainings
• Examples of hard copy and virtual priority sector materials and activities to engage youth • A WRT and essential skills tiered approach based on cognitive research, with an overview of how to attach stipends and incentives. It will also demonstrate various levels of entry to support ages 16-24. • Pulling it together to empower youth to see their future opportunities.
